Questions of Design and a Post-Secular Theory of Science
Saturday, March 12, 2016
Implicit in the design discourse is a non-materialist conception of science which will be explored in this discussion. Because of recent political developments and the rise of radical Islam the broader academic and educated public is increasingly open to post-secular approaches across disciplines. There is now a strategic opportunity for the most creative Christians and other partisans of religion to advance conceptual alternatives with regard to the natural sciences and related disciplines. Coming out of this discussion the Seymour Institute intends to sponsor a study group as the first step in the Institute's long-term development of a post-secular philosophy of science. We will also sponsor a dialogue between proponents of leading schools that study the rise of the human species.
