The Seymour Institute’s 2018 Religious Freedom Leadership Summit, “Martin Luther King and the Challenge of Religious Freedom,” is focused on the key role that religious freedom played in the accomplishments of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and the great, transformative Civil Rights Movement. Church leaders from around the country will discuss the critical importance of the Black Church’s service to the poor and needy and the lynchpin of religious freedom on which that work rests. Current threats to religious freedom and how the Black Church can respond will be the concluding discussion.
